To help students find a chapel fit for them, the sections below organize each experience based on a unique community or interest. Our hope is that each student will see themselves reflected in some way in these experiences and choose accordingly with their continued spiritual development in mind.
Spring 2025 Chapels
This is a multi-cultural, corporate worship service that includes Scripture readings, prayers, worship music, and preaching that incorporates various cultural and historic representations of the local and global church. This chapel brings in top preachers and musicians while also including Baylor students, faculty and staff in the course of the service.
CHA 1086-100/101/102 University Chapel Worship
This is a service that is shaped by a historic understanding of Christian worship and that uses music from various church formats and cultures. Students will have opportunity to lead in various ways and will hear sermons from local ministers in the Baylor community and beyond.
These chapel experiences are designed around the intersection of academic study and Christian formation. These chapels allow students to learn spiritual practices and vocational stewardship with those who share their fields of study. Participants can select a chapel that connects to their major or department. These chapels meet at various times and locations throughout the week and involve Baylor faculty, staff and sometimes other professionals to provide instruction and practices.
CHA 1087-120 Faith & Healing Professions
Pre-health students in this chapel experience will explore the ways in which faith perspectives and spiritual practices form and prepare future healthcare professionals to deal with the challenges they will face. Each week will include talks and discussions that will emphasize the importance of healthy spiritual life and encourage the development of helpful practices early in one's career in the medical world.
CHA 1087-122 Contemporary Challenges of Nursing
An interactive experience that explores how the Christian faith and spiritual practices relate to the nursing profession, in order to develop a healthy spiritual life, and courageously face the challenges of a nursing career.
CHA 1087-123 Faith and Business Discipleship
Faith and Business Discipleship is a chapel experience where students who have completed the initial Faith and Business Chapel take the next step in exploring how to live missionally now as a student and in their future career in business. Participants will be asked to consider helping co-lead a Faith and Business Chapel in the fall.

CHA 1087-130 Faith & Arts: Ways of Seeing
This chapel invites students to engage works of art across various cultures through the lens of Christian belief and virtue. In reflecting on these works through discussion, process art making, and cultural activities, students will gain greater understanding of traditions, wisdom and art from around the world. This chapel is intended for students studying visual arts, music, film, graphic design, theatre, or other form of vocational artistry.

In this chapel, students will read Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer and learn how the practices of Silence and Solitude, Sabbath, Simplicity, and Slowing enable us to flourish both spiritually and artistically. This chapel is intended for students studying visual arts, music, film, graphic design, theatre, or other form of vocational artistry.

CHA 1087-141 PreHealth & the Christian Faith
For Health Science Studies students only who have not already taken this course. Pre-health students in this chapel will explore ways to communicate the love of Christ to their future patients. Each week, students will watch a video tutorial, respond to reflection questions, read scripture, and participate in group discussion. Student will personally reflect on how the Lord can use them to meet physical needs as well as spiritual needs.

CHA 1087-142 Faith and Science
This chapel is for Christian students who love science. Unfortunately, in our contemporary society faith and science often clash with one another. The main goal of the chapel is to help students grow stronger in their faith by exploring its relationship to science. The chapels will cover a range of topics from creation/evolution to humanity’s future.
CHA 1087-143 Christian Communication
This chapel focuses the intersection of communication and the Christian faith. Students will explore characteristics, patterns, and effects of how those within the Christian tradition communicate with God, each other, and those outside the the faith. Ideal for Communications Majors/Minors or those who find interest in crafting a message that involves elements of faith.
CHA 1087-150 Formation, Making, and Creativity Chapel
For ECS students only. The Formation, Making, and Creativity Chapel offered exclusively for ECS students invites you into the intersection of spiritual formation and the creative act. In weekly seminars, the instructor will introduce you to the biblical foundation for creativity and making while encouraging your own spiritual growth. Guest speakers from within the field of Engineering and Computer Science will demonstrate how their own faith impacts the creative work they do in their careers as Engineers and Computer Scientists. Through a hands-on approach, this chapel allows students to implement knowledge learned about creativity and making by generating new ideas on their own projects.

Resident Chaplains, in partnership with some CL&L programs and staff, provide spiritual programming for residents. The chapel experiences in this section allow residents to get a chapel credit while participating in the spiritual programming provided by their Resident Chaplain. The type of program varies based on the residential community and the chaplain but is always designed to meet the spiritual needs of the unique, residential community. This category does not include the morning or evening prayers hosted in residential chapels. See Community Prayers for those options.
CHA 1088-01/02 Chapel at University House/Texana
Chapel options for displaced residents of Allen and Dawson Hall. This chapel section will be lead by the Resident Chaplain with focuses on spiritual practices, Bible study, and building in-hall relationships.
CHA 1088-03 Chapel at Collins 1
This chapel is for residents of Collins only who are participating in the spiritual programming established by the Resident Chaplain. Times, dates, and specific location are set up and communicated by the Resident Chaplain based on the programming for this semester.
CHA 1088-05 Chapel at North Russell
This chapel is for residents of North Russell only who are participating in the spiritual programming established by the Resident Chaplain. Times, dates, and specific location are set up and communicated by the Resident Chaplain based on the programming for this semester.
CHA 1088-06 Chapel at Brooks Flats
New students only. If you were in the Fall section, you cannot take this chapel again. Open for Brooks Flats residents to gather in community and dive into God's Word together. In this chapel section, we will look at the whole narrative of Scripture and see the seamless thread that is evident from Genesis to Revelation.
CHA 1088-08 Chapel for Outdoor Adventure LLC
This chapel is for Outdoor Adventure LLC students only. Chapel credit is integrated into LLC programing and does not require extra meetings or sessions. Students will have intentional, spiritually formative experiences and practices that are enhanced by an outdoor adventure setting.
CHA 1088-08 Chapel at South Russell
This chapel opportunity is open for any residents living at South Russell Residence Hall. We will begin our sessions by opening in prayer for specific prayer requests collected throughout the hall, and we will also be going through the book, "Practicing the Way" by John Mark Comer. This will be a time not only for students to grow in their knowledge for what it means to be an "apprentice" of Jesus, but also what it means to grow in the Christian life and how prayer is vital to that growth.
CHA 1088-10 Chapel at University Parks
This chapel is for students who live at University Parks. There will be a weekly lectio divina or other prayer practice session. Students will also be expected to attend at least one event that is hosted at University Parks by the chaplain.
CHA 1088-11 Chapel at Teal
This chapel is for students who live at Teal Residential College. We will be exploring spiritual formation through observing formation in art and other things that are alive. We will practice Bonsai, lectio divina, and observation of nature.
These chapel experiences allow students to participate in their chapel experience through the leadership and programming of our campus ministry organizations. Each experience is unique to the organization but is incorporated into the faith formative practices, discipleship, worship, and outreach of the ministry.
CHA 1089-01 Vertical Ministries Chapel
Vertical is a worship gathering where students of all ages come together for a time of worship and time in the word. For this chapel credit students will explore spiritual practices beyond just attending a gathering. Each week of the semester students will attend Vertical and spend time practicing and learning spiritual reflection through journaling. Students will be taught how to journal, reflect, spend time in God’s word, memorize/meditate, and pray. Students will be expected to spend time at least 3 times a week journaling these thoughts, reflections, questions, prayers, scriptures, and anything that is meaningful to practicing the Christian faith.
CHA 1089-02 BSM Catalyst Chapel
BSM Catalyst chapel experience is connected to Baylor Baptist Student Ministries. Students who register for this chapel and sign up to be a part of BSM Catalyst will receive chapel credit through participation with Catalyst. This discipleship program includes formation, outreach, and personal discipleship for each student participant. Students must attend the Catalyst meetings every other Monday and will also attend the weekly BSM Thursday evening gathering (Thursdays 7:00 - 8:30 pm) For additional details, email Will Bowden.
CHA 1089-04 Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) Chapel
This is the weekly worship service of Reformed University Fellowship. It is open to all Baylor students and consists of brief announcements, 3-4 songs, and Biblical preaching. Students will engage in singing, prayer, and the study of God’s Word. The aim of this course is to see students grow in the areas of their experience of God’s grace, a Biblical understanding of the world, desire to fellowship with and serve others, and desire to share the Gospel.
CHA 1089-05 Cru Chapel
Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) exists to help students walk maturely with Jesus while in college and beyond. This chapel includes small group Bible studies that we call Gospel Communities that meet on Tuesday night at 8pm in various residence halls around campus. Once a month at that same time on Tuesday, our small groups all come together for our large group gathering called CRUsday.
CHA 1089-06 Facetime with God Chapel
Face Time with God is a campus ministry that meets weekly, serving students spiritual development under the leadership of Rev. Olayinka Obasanya. While Face Time With God has a ministry focus on African American students, all students are welcome to join our fellowship. Chapel students will participate alongside other active participants in weekly gatherings as well as small group and special events throughout the semester.
CHA 1089-08/09 Catholic Student Association Chapel
Hosted through St. Peter Catholic Student Center, students gather for adoration and Daily Mass followed by community fellowship. This is open to both Catholic students and students interested in Catholicism. Catholic Student Chapel will occur on Wednesday evenings from 4:30-6pm.
CHA 1089-10 Student Mobilization Chapel
Are you interested in taking the next step in your faith? Do you want to consider going all in with Christ, making your faith your own, or learning to live out your faith as you consider getting involved in Greek life or other organizations on campus? If so, StuMo's Spiritual Leadership Chapel might be for you. In this Chapel, we will look at what the Bible says about these different areas, challenge you to assess your next step in making your faith your own, and give you opportunities to move towards being a spiritual leader for Christ.
CHA 1089-11 Young Life Chapel
Young Life at Baylor consists of weekly large gatherings called "Club" on Thursday Nights at 7 at The Wesley House as well as Small Group meetings during the week. The Chapel Credit would be consistent involvement in Club and/or a Small Group. Club is focused on building friendships with a lot of students, engaging in a variety of social activities and exploring the life of Jesus. The focus of a Small Group would be deeper community with a handful of students and discussing what it means to be a life-long follower of Jesus.
CHA 1089-12 Catholic Bible Study Chapel for Men
This chapel is for any man who is curious about Catholicism and looking for an opportunity to learn and grow in their faith. The group starts with community fellowship supper at 6:00pm and then breaks off into a weekly small group from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Must get instructor approval.

CHA 1089-14 Fireside Fellowship Chapel (Tuesdays)
This section is focused on group worship and a deep dive into central topics in the Bible. Weekly meeting will be held on campus with a meal provided. Our goal is for students to read through the New Testament of the Bible in one academic year but in doing so, develop a deep and purposed filled Christian life. By unpacking the mysteries of the Bible through mutual fellowship, we believe we can truly touch what is on God’s heart. We hope to foster an environment where we follow the pattern in the Bible of all the members functioning (Eph. 4:16) and having the same care for one another regardless of personal background (1 Cor. 12:25, Col. 3:11).
CHA 1089-15 Open Table
Open Table believes that conversations about faith happen best around the table and that there is a seat for each of us. Each week we share a meal, pray together, study Scripture, and have conversations centered on faith, community, and belonging. We seek to be a space where questions and doubts are welcome and where we can learn from one another in a safe place. Guest speakers present on occasion and pastoral care is available to students who participate in this chapel.
CHA 1089-16 Eastern Orthodox Christian Morning Prayers
Hosted by Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF), this chapel offers students the opportunity to pray the morning prayers of the ancient church, which are preserved in the Matins service of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Students of every Christian tradition will be inspired by praying the Psalms and enlightened by the theologically rich hymns.
CHA 1089-17 Fireside Fellowship Chapel (Thursdays)

CHA 1089-18 Ratio Christi Chapel
Ratio Christi (Latin for "the Reason of Christ") is a Christian apologetics ministry dedicated to helping students understand "why they believe, what they believe." We seek to answer life's biggest questions using apologetics, that is, to give historical, scientific, & philosophical reasons to believe that Christianity is true. Whether you are a believer, a skeptic, a seeker, or unsure about Christianity, this is a space for students to explore the beliefs of & reasons for Christianity.
Students who are drawn together by common interests and passions can find a chapel experience that allows them to participate with like-minded peers. These chapels include Christian teachings and spiritually formative practices that are attentive to the unique characteristics of these communities. Please read the descriptions to determine whether a certain community interest chapel is a good fit.
CHA 1090-13 Chapel for Post-Traditional Students
This chapel will open an opportunity for this population to grow and explore biblical scripture. The goal is to provide an environment that is open and non-judgmental and discuss how to navigate life based on the biblical principles. The students will have an open conversation of how to apply these principles in their daily life.
CHA 1090-14 Faith & Athletics 1
Led by Baylor sports chaplains, participants will explore together what it means to play and participate for the glory of God by practically applying the Bible to collegiate athletics. Through thoughtful presentations and small group interactions, participants will learn to see high-level athletics more deeply through the lens of faith. This chapel experience has been designed for those currently competing in college athletics, challenging them to both think about athletics and compete in a whole new way. will have an open conversation of how to apply these principles in their daily life.

CHA 1090-16 Faith and the Veteran Life
This chapel class is a semester-long exploration of Biblical themes through the perspectives of each of the student veterans that choose to attend this course. Our military experiences provide one unique and often homogenizing effect on the group. However, all perspectives are invited in order to make the conversation richer and fuller.
CHA 1090-18 International Student Chapel
For International students. Includes an overview of Scriptures that prepares students for Christian Scriptures courses. Contains spiritually formative practices that include discussion, learning, and communal engagement.
CHA 1090-20 Service Chapel
This chapel is for students who love service. We are looking for students interested in disaster relief, food insecurities, interfaith cooperation, community development, and how a life of service is connected to faith formation. Students who take this chapel will get their two credits over the Fall and Spring semester. The Spring semester gatherings will be asynchronistic and work around personal schedules to prioritize Baylor service projects. Students who hope to apply for the Service Fellows.
CHA 1090-21 Virtuous Leadership Chapel
This chapel is for students seeking leadership and scholarship opportunities at Baylor. These include but are not limited to Student Government, Pan-Hellenic, Line Camp Leaders, ROTC, CLs, or other student leadership opportunities. This chapel will include a variety of experiences all across campus. It is based on foundational virtues that introduce student leaders to values in leadership.
CHA 1090-11 Faith & Sports
How does the Christian faith relate to the sports we love to play and watch? Join this chapel section if you aim to go deeper in what you cherish about sports while at the same time learn to name and identify areas in sports that need renewal for the good of all.
CHA 1090-12 Seminary Chapel
Christ-following students interested in ministry, theology, or biblical studies will engage in a robust chapel that will shape their faith. Students will participate in Truett Chapel every Tuesday at 11am and get to listen to world-class preachers, presenters, and worship leaders. Afterward, students will follow up the service with a lunch (provided) and debrief with Truett Seminarians.
CHA 1090-13 Chapel with the First Gent
Chapel with the First Gent is for anyone interested in deepening and growing in their relationship and daily walk with Christ. It is a small group Bible Study led by Brad Livingston.

These chapel experiences are designed to infuse Christian teaching and practices into topics that are important to our community. Participants will get to engage with specific subjects and learn faith-formative paths towards human flourishing. These experiences do not contain a worship-practice and might be a good fit for those who seeking a different kind of chapel due to their faith background or beliefs.
CHA 1091-01 Beginning a Soulful Journey
Beginning a Soulful Journey is a Baylor Chapel experience centered in the conviction that human beings are made in God’s image and therefore are inherently spiritual. During the semester, students will be engaging with one another, with spiritual teaching, with themselves, and, hopefully, with God. The Monday meetings will involve spiritual practices, presentations, and conversations. Throughout the week, students are expected to spend some time reflecting on and journaling about the themes introduced in the session and materials shared with them through Canvas and as handouts.
CHA 1091-05/6 Interfaith Community in Practice
This chapel for students of diverse faiths provides an opportunity for students to explore spiritual themes and practices in the context of Baylor’s diverse Christian community. See Dr. Villegas for additional details.

CHA 1091-10 Learning the Story of God in Scripture
This chapel requires students to 1) Watch Chapel Online videos every Monday and Wednesday and respond with a unique prompt and answer for each video, 2) Meet on designated Friday mornings to hear a 45min presentation on the Scriptures being covered in the videos that month, 3) Write a reflection paper after the presentation. Students must attend all in-person meetings, turn in papers, and watch 75% of the weekly videos in order to receive credit. This chapel is designed to teach how the narrative of the gospel in woven into the entirety of Scripture. Students will learn Scripture and be able to identify the gospel message throughout.
CHA 1092-01 Directed Chapel Study with University Chaplain
To arrange for Directed Chapel Study experience, students will take initiative to meet with University Chaplain, Dr. Burt Burleson, to determine what will be the discussing weekly with a chaplain, researching and writing a paper, meeting weekly with a minister for discipleship, taking part in a spiritual direction group, doing mission work and writing a significant reflection paper.

Morning and evening options are available for those who live near the embedded chapel locations around Baylor. For twenty-minutes, Monday through Thursday, participants come together with other local residents to pray and sing together using historic and modern liturgies.
