Have Questions About Mandatory Chapel?
Undergraduate Baylor students are required to receive two chapel credits in order to graduate. Students must take two semesters of chapel and you may not take two chapels in the same semester. You can take your chapel credits at any time during your undergraduate years but we recommend getting your chapel requirements in the first few semesters.
How Do I Make Sure I Pass?
Chapel is Pass/Fail with attendance being the main variable. However, some chapels require attendance plus other activities or assignments. You must check the chapel syllabus on your Canvas page to be responsible for all the requirements needed to pass your chapel course. Chapel is a 0 credit course and failing will not effect your GPA. However, failure to pass chapel will result in your needing to re-take chapel. You do not have to re-take the same chapel you already took. There are several to choose from and we encourage you to find a chapel that is a good fit for you.
Can I Transfer Chapel Credits?
If you are a transfer student with chapel credits from your previous undergraduate experience, you may qualify to be exempt for one of your chapel credits. Please speak to your Academic Advisor. You can only exempt out of one chapel credit. You will still need to take one Baylor Chapel even if you can opt out of the second.
